چکیده
The present study investigated the reproductive biology of Stolephorus commersonnii and Amblygaster sirm at two landing sites in Tanga on northern coast Tanzania. Fish samples were collected a monthly basis from ringnets operated by artisanal fishers nearby coastal waters. Spawning seasons determined using gonadosomatic index (GSI) gonadal maturity stages. size first was 57.7 mm 66.2 total length for male female S. respectively. Male A. estimated to attain 147.7 169.2 spawning both species protracted. demonstrated year round cycle with peaks August, October January. peak season recorded August September Both exhibited skewed size-dependent sex ratios females predominating larger classes. had higher fecundity rate maximum 96,500 eggs largest fish 258 as compared (10,055 eggs) 98 mm. mean (±SE) comersonnii 5,134.7 ± 136.9 eggs, 47,029.03 1,435.13 sizes 68 170

Survey of spatial-temporal distribution pattern and genetic structure of Amblygaster sirm (Walbaum, 1792) in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea (Coast of the Hormozgan and Busher Provinces)
Fish sardines play a key role in the primary chain of production in the sea, and unknowing harvesting of them causes irreparable damage to the marine ecosystem. Also, genetic studies can help preserve biodiversity and take steps to protect the reserves. In this research, the population dynamic of the Amblygaster sirm and it,s the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) were surveyed and calculated and ...
متن کاملProteolysis of Sardine (Sardina pilchardus) and Anchovy (Stolephorus commersonii) by Commercial Enzymes in Saline Solutions.
Fish sauce production is a very long process and there is a great interest in shortening it. Among the different strategies to speed up this process, the addition of external proteases could be a solution. This study focuses on the effect of two commercial enzymes (Protamex and Protex 51FP) on the proteolysis of two fish species traditionally converted into fish sauce: sardine and anchovy, by c...
متن کاملprofiles in the bone of gold stripe sardine (sardinella gibbosa), anchovy kilka (clupeonella engrauliformis) and indian anchovy (stolephorus indicus)
the aim of this study was to determine the fatty acid and mineral composition in bone of 3 pelagic fish: gold stripe sardine (sardinella gibbosa), anchovy kilka (clupeonella engrauliformis) and indian anchovy (stolephorus indicus). fatty acid profiles showed that total saturated fatty acid have no significant differences in 3 species. the content of total mono saturated fatty acids in anchovy k...
متن کاملModeling sardine and anchovy low-frequency variability.
The group of small pelagics (sardines, anchovies, herrings, etc.) is the largest source of wild marine protein worldwide, providing annually between 21% and 43% of the total marine capture production during at least the last 60 y (1). Even when large-scale fisheries have been operating for decades to centuries, their assessment and management remains difficult and highly uncertain (2). Such cha...
متن کاملRisk factors for anaemia in schoolchildren in Tanga Region, Tanzania.
Anaemia is one of the major public health problems affecting more than half of school children along the coast in Tanzania. Due to the multiplicity of its causes it sometimes becomes difficult to find appropriate intervention measures. In order to assist schools in implementing appropriate public health measures for anaemia in Tanga Region of Tanzania risk factors were investigated in school ch...
